Pepper Jack Kale Grilled Cheese
Unless you just don’t like cheese, you have to love a good grilled cheese sandwich. They may not be the healthiest thing on the planet, but adding a great big handful of super healthy kale helps to make me feel better about indulging in this.
You have to add a lot of kale, since it will wilt down once it gets hot. The more kale you add, the more nutrition you can get from this cheesy good sandwich.
A grilled cheese has to be cooked on a medium low heat. If a grilled cheese is cooked too fast it will burn the bread and the cheese inside won’t be melted like it should be. Be patient, and the results really will be worth the wait.
I like to add shredded parmesan cheese to the butter, it just doubles the goodness.
The bread is a perfect golden brown, and just look at all of the gooey cheese melting, now this is how you make a great grilled cheese sandwich!
The pepper jack cheese adds that spicy kick to the kale that it needs. This may not be your typical grilled cheese, but that’s the point, experiment in the kitchen, it’s fun and delicious!!
